Award for Outstanding Leadership in Advancing Interprofessional Professional Development

Nomination Deadline: Friday October 7, 2016.

The Award for Outstanding Leadership in Advancing Interprofessional Professional Development was created by the former UBC College of Health Disciplines to honour an outstanding individual or health care team that promotes professional development in the areas of collaborative teaching among different health care professionals and/or collaborative patient-centred practice to support excellence in the delivery of patient-centred care.

The award is valued at $500 and will be presented to an individual, team or project in an educational or practice setting.

 

Eligibility criteria:

The nominee must be an individual or team of individuals from community, hospital or university-based settings, whose unique and innovative contributions have had a significant impact on the interprofessional professional development of colleagues, educators, or professionals within the Province of British Columbia.

 

Nomination process:

A nomination form must be completed online and must include nominations from at least two health professionals or educators from different disciplines whose professional development has been positively affected by the nominated individual or team.

In addition, supporting documentation can be included in the form of a letter. The letter should describe the nominated individual or team’s contributions towards interprofessional collaborative patient-centred care and how they have contributed to professional development in this area. The contribution to interprofessional professional development may encompass development, scholarship, administration, and will be assessed on originality, relevance and sustainability.

Nomination Deadline: Friday October 7, 2016.

Note: Supporting documentation, if any, must be received in the Office of the Vice-Provost Health by the nomination deadline in order to be included in the nomination. Late or incomplete nominations will not be considered.

 

Award winner will be contacted in the fall of 2016.

Award winner must consent to having name of winning nomination published on the UBC Health website for the purpose of promoting the Award for Outstanding Leadership in Advancing Interprofessional Professional Development.
